Filler

Filler provides volume. We can add volume to various areas of the face - cheeks, chin, lips - to give you a more balanced and youthful appearance. At FACE Leawood, we use hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. HA is a substance naturally found in your body and works by attracting water. HA fillers are safe and effective.

There are different subtypes of filler that are better in certain areas of the face. For example: we may use a more firm form of filler deep along the jawline while we'd use a more flexible form for the lips. It's all about finding the right product for the right patient and injecting it correctly.

Ideal Candidates

Filler is ideal for patients who are wanting to add subtle volume in areas that they've lost over the years with aging or in areas that they were born deficient in. As we age, we lose volume in the various areas of the face and filler can help to add that lost volume along the cheeks, midface, and jawline/chin. Conversely, if you naturally have flatter cheeks or a smaller chin, filler may be appropriate in younger patients who're wanting improved facial balance.

Technique

A numbing cream is usually applied for increased patient comfort. The product is injected under the skin through a very fine needle and then gently massaged so it fills the needed areas. Multiple injections will be needed, followed by a cold, gentle compress to decrease swelling. Each formula is administered with a similar technique to different areas of the face to target your specific needs and goals.

How often do I need to come back for a touch-up?

Depending on the area of the face the filler is injected into, your overall health status, and a little of Mother Nature's hand, HA fillers can last anywhere from 8 months to several years. More mobile areas, like the lips, tend to break down the product a bit faster than less mobile areas like the tear trough or chin.

Do filler injections hurt?

You may feel some discomfort as the needle is inserted under your skin. Prior to your injections, a topical numbing cream is applied to help you feel more comfortable. After the treatment, a cold compress will be applied to reduce swelling and bruising.

Will I look fake after filler?

Our singular goal is to provide safe, effective, and natural-looking results to our patients. That's true with filler, neuromodulators, surgery, and all other treatments that we offer.

How Much Does filler Cost?

Your cost for filler treatments will vary based on many factors, including which formula is used, which area(s) is being treated, how much filler is needed, and more. During your initial consultation, we will listen to your concerns before developing a personalized treatment plan. From there, your cost can be estimated and payment options discussed.
