Lip Lift

The signs of aging occur at varying rates for different individuals and in different parts of the body. Typical aging changes of the mouth include an elongated philtrum (groove in upper lip), thinning lips, and downturn of the corners of the mouth.

Improving subtle features of the lips and mouth can provide you with a more youthful appearance, without others really being able to put their finger on what you've done.

Simply adding volume to the lips isn't always the answer. Sometimes tissue needs to be lifted and adjusted to get us back to our more youthful looking selves. A surgical lip lift, in combination with lip filler, can be the right choice for certain patients.

Dr. Umstattd uses a small incision at the base of the nose and tailors your lip lift to the exact height you desire. This incision will evolve after surgery and continue to improve until it reaches its final appearance at approximately 1 year. The key to achieving your goals is a thorough discussion preoperatively.
