Microneedling

Microneedling is one of the gold standard treatments for patients seeking gentle, ongoing, and evidence based skin renewal. Microneedling rejuvenates the skin by promoting your skin’s own healing process, giving it that healthy glow. Microneedling is a great addition or alternative to laser resurfacing treatments or chemical peels. It can help you achieve smoother, younger looking skin on your face or neck with minimal downtime. You may elect to solely treat the face or include the neck as well.

How does microneedling work?

Microneedling uses tiny, sterile needles to puncture the surface of the skin on your face and neck, creating thousands of tiny micro-injuries. This stimulates your skin’s natural production of elastin and collagen. Microneedling improves the tone, texture, and quality of the skin on the face and neck, and it can also reduce and minimize wrinkles, scars, fine lines, sun spots, and other blemishes.

Am I a candidate for microneedling?

SkinPen microneedling is an ideal choice for patients who:

  • Have any of the following skin concerns: scarring, age spots, sun damage, acne blackheads, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, poor skin tone and texture, reduced collagen and elasticity, sagging or hollows in the skin

  • Have skin of any color—the device is FDA-cleared for use on all skin tones and skin types

  • Do not have currently have acne or skin infections

  • Have no wound healing issues

What’s the downtime after microneedling?

Immediately after your microneedling section, the treated areas will be red and flushed. The following day, you'll likely be less red but still notice that you've had a treatment done. We ask you to not wear any makeup immediately after and for the entire day following the treatment. We want a minimum of 36-48 hours to allow the tiny micro-injuries to begin the healing process before any chemicals or irritants are introduced.

How much does it cost?

Refer to our pricing information page for more details on the cost. Note that you may opt to add the treatment to your neck doing the same visit.
